Mini-Course Overview: Designing and Scripting for Interactive Videos

This short course demonstrates how to design, script, and deliver truly interactive videos using H5P inside Moodle. Instead of simply adding quiz questions to a finished video, you’ll learn to plan interactivity from the very first draft — deciding exactly where your learners will pause, reflect, or choose a path forward.

Through a combination of video, interactive examples, and guided reflections, you’ll see how to:

      • Storyboard adaptive video sequences that respond to learner choices.

      • Script purposeful interactions that reinforce recall, understanding, and reflection.

      • Use “support clips” and branching logic to guide learners who need extra help.

      • Apply good pacing, feedback, and accessibility practices for a seamless learning flow.

The featured video you’ll watch here is both a tutorial and an example — it exists in two versions:

      1. A linear version (as seen on YouTube).

      2. An interactive version (embedded here in Moodle), where you can experience how each design principle works in practice.

By completing this mini-course, you’ll gain a repeatable framework for turning any video into an engaging learning experience that feels personal, adaptive, and pedagogically sound.
